Hey, what’s up?

I’m Ella Eland: a self-taught fine artist & designer who’s the creator behind DOPAMINE design studios.

Having grown up in the active outdoor community of Breckenridge, CO, nature has always been a huge part of my life and my greatest inspiration.

At 18, I moved to Hawaii and became completely addicted to surfing.

Surfing got me through some of the toughest times of my life, helping me find presence, peace, and complete joy.

The relief and high of surfing inspired me to create designs that celebrate my love and gratitude for nature, outdoor activity, and the laid-back culture that comes with it.

DOPAMINE design studios promotes mental and physical health by emphasizing the

natural,

free,

& healthy high

of spending time in the great outdoors.

The concept of DOPAMINE was founded on the addictive dopamine hit one feels through outdoor physical activity.

In case you’re wondering what exactly “dopamine” is, let me give ya a brief general explanation.

“Dopamine” is a neurotransmitter that contributes to feelings of happiness and wellbeing and is triggered by things that bring us pleasure (such as surfing, haha).

The high that dopamine gives us has us constantly coming back for more, which often leads to the development of addictive behaviors.

However, unlike addictive substances like drugs and alcohol, the dopamine rush from outdoor activity is healthy for your mind, body, & soul.

Through my work, I hope to promote the importance of mental and physical health by emphasizing the natural, free, and healthy high of spending time in the great outdoors.

Inspired by retro poster design, western illustration, and surf shop tees, DOPAMINE designs are unique blends of quirky and minimal, modern and vintage that celebrate the joys of outdoor activity & the lifestyle that comes with it.
